Thomas de la Bere.

Bere, Thomas

Bere requests remedy . . . and that he can be seised of the manor of Haselbury until the king is advised of his rights as he has being suing for his inheritance of the manor for 5 years or more following the deaths of Alan and Sybil Plucknett.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ to Greystoke, lately steward of the lands referred to, to come to the king's chamber and inform the sergeants of the king of the rights that the king claims in the manor; and let it be ordered to the sergeants who hear the information to plead further before the king so that justice can be done between the king and the party.
Places mentioned

People mentioned
Alan Plokenet (Plucknett)
Sybil [Plokenet, (Plucknett)], wife of Alan Plucknett.
Note
The petition is dated to? 1330-? 1345 because the dating of this and associated petitions presents real problems for dating. The petitioner, as he makes clear in his petitions, is involved in a very protracted legal suit, and the hands of the petitions vary quite considerably from hands of the 1330s-1340s (SC 8/32/1600; SC 8/169/8436) to a hand that looks securely of the 1350s (SC 8/145/7241).
