- The petition is dated to 1388-1390 as it seems that the petition dates to after the fall and execution of Simon Burley in 1388 and the death of Tyle in 1390 (Bond, S., The Medieval Constables of Windsor Castle, (EHR, Vol.82, No.323 (Apr., 1967)), pp.225-249.). This dating would correspond with the preceding writ which dates to 20 May 1388 (SC 8/169/8433).
