Nature of request
The merchants request a remedy and that they be taken into the king's safe-keeping so that they can come into England and sell their merchandise, and that it is directed to London and Bristol that they are in the king's protection, and have this proclaimed in other towns. The king granted certain liberties in England but the merchants suffer many grievances and duresses especially in the towns of London and Bristol.

They should go into Chancery and show their charters, and have a remedy there.
