Nature of request
The bailiffs request an oyer and terminer to be held by Stanton and others, and that the sheriff be commanded by writ that the fair be maintained as has been ordained after the grant of the fair. The bailiffs keep the peace of the fair but the people of Little Yarmouth came and entered the fair and by force and arms beat and wounded them and rescued many attachments made for their customs, namely money and armour to their great damage and in contempt of the king.
