Nature of request
Deyncourt requests that justice and that he is able to have delivery of his estates which has been delayed for three weeks after he did homage. Edmund Deyncourt held the manors of Blankney, Branston, Granby, Holmesfield and Elmton of gift of the king with remainder to the petitioner and his heirs, and on Edmund's death inquisitions found that this was the case, and Deyncourt did homage to the king and had letters to the chancellor to give livery of the estates. He has refused to do so because Joan de Massey claims dower in the same though the inquisitions found that her husband had nothing in the same.

The petition dates to 1327-1328 as several orders to escheators not to meddle with lands of the petitioners and the Masseys date to February and March 1327, and to February 1328 (CCR 1327-30, pp.52, 53, 254, 255).
