Simon Coupere requests remedy stating that, on 31 July 1387, William Taverner was arrested at Tenterden by the constable and others for falsifying the king's coinage and other offences. However, Blossome, chief councillor of Gilleford, accepted money and allowed Taverner to go free, to the great damage of the people and the king.
