Constable of Llanbadarn Fawr castle
Nature of request
John de Skydemor makes two requests.1) Skydemor states that, as Constable of Llanbadarn Fawr, he has kept the castle, and in the last war raised by Maelgwn ap Rhys, he was forced to eat his horses to save it. The people of Genau'rglyn now make malicious accusations against him, and the Welsh people agree due to their hatred of him for his actions in the war, and the deaths of their people. He therefore requests letters to William Martyn, Justice of West Wales, ordering that any inquisitions into these allegations be heard before Englishmen.2) He requests that he be restored to a petty constableship in Mefenydd, from which he has been unjustly ousted by Martyn, at the procurement of his enemies.
