Nature of request
The petitioners state that Fache and Gerardyn, members of the Scala and merchants of Florence, were bound to them in £360, which ought to have been paid in Boston long ago. Demands for payment were unsuccessful, and they sought to arrest the wool and other goods of the company, and to sue according to merchant law. However, the Bardi, with the assistance of Despenser and Robert, prevented them from securing these goods, and they therefore ask that they be allowed to continue their suit according to merchant law and to have their payment.
