Nature of request
Ellis de Joneston states that in September in the king's third year it was ordained that he was to stay continually with the clerks dealing with Gascon business, receiving his wages at the Exchequer and accounting at the Wardrobe. However, he did not receive these, and despite receiving credit from the king's ministers, he is unable to perform his duties. He therefore requests letters recording the sums due to him, and discharging him from accounting in the Wardrobe, that he may receive assignment of his wages at the Exchequer of Bordeaux.

Have a writ to the Archbishop of York to certify to the king in chancery as to the truth of this matter.
