Nature of request
The men of Guernsey and Jersey request that, since Grandison, who had the keeping of the islands for the term of his life, is now dead and the islands lack a Warden, that Roches may be their Warden.
Nature of endorsement
Because it is witnessed that Grandison is dead, it is agreed with the advice of the council that the King shall seize those lands into his hands and appoint as keepers those whom he shall approve.
