Nature of request
The people of Great Yarmouth request that whereas Edward I owed them money from various dues, wages of mariners and other expenses and costs incurred in his wars, and they petitioned in the last parliament to have due allowance for the said debts, as more fully appears in the marshal's files, in the 35th year of his reign (1306-7), which they did not receive because of his death, and they have had other writs on the same matter, that the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer be ordered to view their evidences so that they can have remedy.
Nature of endorsement
Since a writ of the contents of the petition from the time of Edward I is in the marshal's file, a similar writ should now be made so that it can be executed.
