Margaret requests that the office of the marshalsea of England should be delivered to her as Brotherton's heir by virtue of the grant of the King's great-grandfather [Edward II] to Brotherton and his heirs of the right and lordship of Bygod and all his castles, boroughs, vills and manors.

Note
Dated on the guard to? 1377, with reference to CCR 1377-9, p. 2, a 1377 memo that Margaret Marshall petitioned to perform the office of marshal of England by deputy at the coronation. It must date to the reign of Richard II, since reference is made in the petition to the King's great-grandfather, Edward II.
