Description
Petitioners
Andrew de Seynlitz (St Litz).
Name(s)
de Seynlitz (St Litz), Andrew
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Seynlitz requests remedy concerning the manor of Stretton which Simon de St Litz granted to Aumale to hold for his life, so that after his death the manor would revert back to Simon and his heirs, but after Aumale's death, because Simon was dead and his heirs underage, the King seized the manor into his hand where it has remained because neither Seynlitz nor his ancestors have a copy of the said grant. The petitioner has with him the deed confirming the said grant, and the charter of Henry III which confirms the same deed.
Nature of endorsement
Let his charters and muniments be shown in Chancery and justice be done there.
Places mentioned
Stretton, Rutland.
People mentioned
Simon de Seynlitz (St Litz), great-grandfather of the petitioner
William [de Forz], Earl of Aumale
Henry III, King of England.
Note
This is a copy of the petition mentioned in SC 8/165/8233 which the petitioner claims was presented at the preceding parliament. Since SC 8/165/8233 dates to the 1328 parliament, this petition must date to that of 1327.
