Derham requests that, whereas the King assigned him and Aulton to survey the jewels, goods and chattels of St John who died in the King's debt ... and elsewhere in the counties of Southampton and Sussex until the said earl of Kent ... Winchester and Derham was taken and detained ... for 14 days ... the houses Crawley were ... and the said goods and chattels ..., that the King enquire in whose hands the goods and chattels are so that he can be discharged of the same.
