Nature of request
Richard Fleming requests remedy for his troubles. Whereas his brother William by his charter gave him two houses and two curtilages in Briton in the fee of St Fagan, now Grinstead, who was seized of the said tenements by Richard's grant, has sued a writ of assize of novel disseisin against him. After the disseisin Richard, for any misdeeds that he had done, ... voided the leases so that Lady Nicola ... those same tenements, whereupon the sheriff examined if Grinstead had returned at any time ... of the said Lady Nicola and the jurors answered that she discharged ... for fear of the demands, and she was disseised ... the judgment put in respite ... and she was disseised and recovered the tenements ... Because a charter that she put forward in evidence that she was seised by the gift of Richard is false and made after Richard's death because Grinstead took his seal together with other jewels from Richard's coffers and made her seal the said charter with this seal .... In the same ... Henry Odyn and Morris Adam request remedy for a messuage and land in ... by a writ of assize of novel disseisin ... the case of which is aforesaid of Richard.Moreover, Henry Odyn requests remedy ... without law and judgment they have taken from him in disinheritance of the lord of this land half an acre ... in Brittany which he held ... in a writ, which half acre has been held in bondage ....Moreover, Sybil ... requests remedy ... Grinstead in ... half a curtilage which she held of the lord in bondage.Moreover, ap Moriz requests remedy ... Morris Jugge was sheriff of Glamorgan and because for a long time ... St George that if any man had right ... the said sheriff ... to ap Moriz to hold of the lord in bondage ...
