Nature of request
The men of Little Yarmouth and Gorleston request that they can have proclaimed their usages, as have their ancestors from time of memory, that all merchants and food-related merchandise coming into the port of Yarmouth can sell and be sold, because the men of Great Yarmouth bought a charter from Langton in the last days of Edward I witnessing the truth, without having a writ of inquiry and without making a fine to the king, in disinheritance of the King of £30 yearly, to the damage of his people living in the said towns and contrary to the great charter.
