Nature of request
Wythom requests that the king grant a writ to the bailiffs of Boston directing them to arrest the ships of Court and Rode of Kampen and detain them until full restitution has been made to him for his ship called Gabriel which, having lately been in Prussia, was arrested without cause by certain men of Kampen where it remained for over seven weeks until Wythom's attorneys and deputies in it paid the men of Campe for its delivery, costing Wythom more than £300, because of which the ship had to return to Boston. On the way to Boston the ship was driven by tempest onto a rock in Norway and wrecked.
Nature of endorsement
On 15 November 1418 it was agreed by the council that a commission under the great seal would be addressed to Robert Tirwyt and William Luddington, justices, to have the parties appear before them and to duly examine the matter of the petition and do justice to the parties and to inform the king's council of their actions in this matter.
