Nature of request
Constance de Gerdiston requests recovery of her manor of Garriston of which her grandfather, whose heir she is, died seised in his demesne as of fee. His son Nicholas having died while he was still living, his other son Robert entered into the manor while Constance, unaware of her grandfather's death, was in the march of Wales. Robert was killed and his son Geoffrey entered into the manor, at which time Constance learned of her grandfather's death and entered the country and claimed the manor as her inheritance against Geoffrey who claimed that he held the manor of the gift of Geoffrey le Scrop.
