Nature of request
Canterbury request a charter of pardon for selling fifteen sacks of wool to men of Flanders, which he had shipped in the Isle of Wight for Chichester staple and then, because of storm, taken to Zeeland, returning from whence a gale drove him into Sluis where he sold the said wool when damaged by sea-water.1)
Nature of endorsement
The suppliant should make fine in the Chancery as can reasonably be agreed between the chancellor and him and he should have a charter of pardon as is demanded within.2) Since the endorsement of this bill was agreed before the council the suppliant should pay £20 to the king by the quinzaine of St John next.3) From the chancellor of England.4) For the treasurer of England.
