Nature of request
It was found by inquest taken by writ ad quod damnum before Matthew Brown, then escheator, and returned in Chancery, that no damage would come to the King or others from the grant by Bayouse and Gernon of land and rent in Reepham and the advowson of the church of Reepham to the dean and chapter of Lincoln Cathedral, on condition that they purchase a chaplain in the cathedral and two chaplains in the chapel in the suburbs of Lincoln, to celebrate divine service daily for the souls of Edward I, Edward II, John de Bliton and Emma his wife. The said dean and chapter request that the king order the chancellor to accept a convenient fee from them for permission to purchase the said chaplains and that they may have the king's charter in this matter.

[On face:] For the church of the Blessed Mary of Lincoln.[On dorse:] Let it be done in Chancery at the discretion of the chancellor.
