Name(s)
de Umfraville, earl of Angus, Gilbert
Addressees

Nature of request
The earl requests that remedy be ordained in the present parliament for him concerning the disseisin of his manor of Moulton as he has been long delayed. Redmane came to the manor with many armed men and disseised him of the manor which he holds in right of his wife, and still hold it, for which he brought a writ of novel disseisin against Redmane and requested a commission of oyer and terminer, but the matter was delayed by a writ and letter of the privy seal.
Nature of endorsement
Parcels of petitions delivered into parliament at Westminster on Monday next after the fest of St George, 50 Edward III.

Moulton [Lincolnshire].
People mentioned
Maud [de Umfraville, countess of Angus], wife of the petitioner
Matthew de Redmane (Redman, Redmayne).
Note
The petition clearly belongs to the Good Parliament of April 1376 as the response reveals that the petition's dorse was probably used as the cover for the bundle of petitions delivered into that parliament.
