- The people request the king's charter granting that they may hold the town for £14 10s. 9d. in accordance with an inquisition lately held into the matter, or that some other remedy is provided, as the town is so impoverished and cannot pay the current farm.

- It seems to the council that for the mischiefs that they have suffered that the king grant them pardon of the arrears of the farm that cannot be levied because of the destruction by the sea, and that they answer for the sum found in the inquisition . . .
