Description

King and council.
Nature of request
[Petition in 2 parts].1) The relatives request a suitable remedy as Weyland had the marriage of Hugh de Neville but because of a certain wrong that he did he forfeited all his goods, lands and chattels were or should have been seized into the king's hand along with the marriage, but he has married Neville to his daughter against common right and to the disinheritance of the king.2) They further understand that though Weyland had the marriage under the condition that he did not disparage Neville, but the daughter is thought not to be of a lineage suitable for Neville, and they request that Neville can be placed with one of his relatives at the king's will until he is able to assent to the marriage or the king has ordained some other arrangement.1)
Nature of endorsement
