- A commission and special mandate was issued to hear and determine the appeal of the defendant in this case on 4 October 1393 (CPR 1391-6, p. 318) But John Shakill was still alive at this point: later commissions and mandates were issued after his death (CPR 1396-9 p.58 and p.83, both dated 9 December 1396, and p.165, dated 1 July 1397). This petition is therefore tentatively dated to c. 1396. See also SC 8/341/16083.
