Clyff requests remedy and that he can have the forfeit from the marriage of Sybil Loveday without his consent. Edward I granted the marriage to le Bygod with the fine and forfeiture, and he in turn granted it to Clyff.

The petition is dated to c. 1318 on the basis of an unconnected reference to Sybil Loveday as a widow of 6 July 1318 (CCR 1313-18, p.624). In addition a petition from this petition was presented to the parliament of October 1318 that may have been this petition (E 175/1, no.22, m.3).
