[This petition is damaged and fragmentary, and the description has been taken from the later copy.]Aun requests will ordain something for him, as he has always been in the king's father's service, and was raised to the status of a knight for which the king ordained that he should the manor of Lea which Northampton forfeited but has since recovered, and also he has been ousted from the custody of Tickhill Castle.1)
Nature of endorsement
It seems to the council that the king should ordain compensation to the petitioner to maintain his estate.2) It pleases the king that he should have a great constabulary or some other great bailiwick to maintain himself until the king can ordain otherwise for his estate.
