Nature of request
The burgesses and farmers request remedy as they are on the point of judgement in the eyre of Nottinghamshire by reason of the articles of the statute of York as this stipulates that no minister may hold merchandises when in office, and as they are a town dependent on trade and many of their bailiffs have been burgesses selling victuals, and their goods are forfeit.1)

Let the record and process be brought before the king and examined the causes and other things touching the business, and hear the reasons, and let justice be done.2) [Illegible].
