Hoton requests he can have letters patent of the king that they are able to enjoy the office of the forester of the wood of Plumpton as he and his ancestors have done from time out of memory taking nothing but the herbage from the ancient hay there for their wages as he has recently been disturbed by the sheriff.

The 23 February in the 21 year it was agreed by the council that a writ be sent to the justice of the forest to suffer the petitioner to have and enjoy the office in the manner of his ancestors.[Followed by a short list of those present].
