[The petition is badly damaged and the full sense is difficult to recover].Petition of the abbot and monks concerning their rights in the forest that King John granted that they could have in their lands, and which have been curtailed by an error in the time of William de Vescy.
Nature of endorsement
Threekingham and Sheffield are to be assigned to enquire by jury of Yorkshire of the abbot's seisin and other matters contained in the charter, and when the inquisition is returned let justice be done.
