Description

'Relief' granted to the two daughters of Mrs Clozier [Marie Louise Charlotte Augustine Clozier and Marie Catherine Amdine Clozier]; also reported that he signed a 'conveyance' in the King's name of ten enslaved persons of African descent and their children, that at the death of the mother, they 'should be the property of the two Daughters, subject to the like limitation as the Grant already mentioned'; encloses copies of these deeds.

Names of enslaved persons of African descent on the deed are:

  • Jean Baptiste;
  • Jourdin;
  • Remy;
  • Registe;
  • July;
  • Madlonette;
  • Alexandrine [person of mixed heritage] 'mulattresse', together with her child Florise;
  • Stazil [person of mixed heritage] 'mulattresse', with her child Clarisse;
  • Helene;
  • Medi, together with her three children called Jean Jacques, Auzel, and Anne Rose.
