Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Bute: circumstances do not permit him to answer Bute in the detail he requires. He believes the treasury can calculate next year's expenses. He gives totals for the infantry and cavalry. He bemoans the use of men leading bat-horses and carts and the poor quality of recruits. High quality of the French troops. He makes eight numbered recommendations for the coming campaign. Dated at Wickensen. ff. 293-298
