Explains that one of the reasons for the low numbers of recruits for the Bahamas Contingent was that 'in certain cases separation and other allowances have been delayed and withheld'. Encloses a letter from the Colonial Secretary to the Command Paymaster at Cairo showing that 'the voluntary allotments made by men to their relatives here and deducted from their pay have never been credited to this Government'. Also encloses a letter from the Colonial Secretary to the Regimental Paymaster at Warley. Bahamas, No. 82, Folios 221-233
