Description

States reasons for the low number of recruits for the Bahamas Contingent of the British West Indies Regiment. Encloses a letter from Dr H Mather Hare, Canadian AMC Reserve Captain; a report by temporary member of the recruiting committee George H Clarke; and a printed copy of the governor's remarks made to the 53 recruits, '2 White, 51 Coloured', prior to their departure. Bahamas, Confidential, Folios 188-210
