Page 384-385. H Hobhouse to Major General Sir John Byng, Pontefract. Hobhouse states that the absence of news from Carlisle is a good sign. Sidmouth is pleased to hear the news from Manchester, where the Magistrates are 'very sensitive.' Sidmouth is pleased that Byng would not leave without having made satisfactory arrangements with W Norris.
