Bute to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: the king will reply to his letter [SP 87/40/37] in person. The king has decided to grant the landgrave of Hesse sixty thousand pounds. The states general of the united provinces have addressed the king on the subject of the election of bishops in Westphalia, which he does not think should take place while the war is in progress. He encloses a letter [SP 87/40/39] from the king. Dated at Whitehall. ff. 81-83
