Page 359. Hobhouse to Major General Sir John Byng, Pontefract. Sidmouth is pleased that Byng has confidence in the officer in charge at Chester, although being so far from the towns where disaffection is rife, Hobhouse believes it to be a ruse, and that an attack will occur elsewhere. He adds that the Chester Assizes last 4 or 5 days and begin on 12 April.
