Description

Central Europe. 'Europe 1:1000000 sheet North M34 'Krakau [Cracow or Kraków]': map (of territory now in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) showing contours, rivers, place names, boundaries, roads and railways. Reference table; indexes to adjoining sheets and boundaries; lists of authorities and abbreviations; pronunciation glossary. Sides not parallel because of the projection. Compiled at the Royal Geographical Society under the direction of the Geological Survey of the General Staff. Drawn and printed by the Ordnance Survey 1915. Second provisional edition, with minor corrections to 1918. Overprinted title 'Frontières entre la Tchéco-Slovaquie et la Pologne': overprinting shows the 1914 boundaries, a joint proposal by the American, British, French and Japanese delegations for the new boundary betweeen Poland and Czechoslovakia, and a proposal by the Italian delegation. Overprinted by the Service Géographique de l'Armée, 7 April 1919. Originally illustrating a print of the Note presented to the Supreme Council of the Allies by the Commission on Polish Affairs and the Committee on Tchecho-Slovak Questions 6 April 1919.
