Danube Delta (now in Romania and Ukraine). Map of the Kiliya branch, showing the advance of shallow banks since the Russian survey of 1830, the increase of dry land, the Russian six-feet line and five-fathom line in 1830, the six-feet line and five-fathom line from a survey by HMS Medina 1856 and the encroachment of the sea on shallow banks since the closure of the Soodinovo mouth. Reference table. Signed by Captain T Spratt, HMS Medina and originally accompanying his opinion on the Suez Canal project, submitted to the Hydrographer of the Navy 30 January 1858.
