Egypt. 'Plan of Suez from survey by Linant Bey showing the relative positions of the works in progress and in contemplation, also the sites of British and French Establishments'. A note states: 'To accompany Col. Stanton's Despatch No 10 - of 31st Augt 1865'.
According to the index at the parent reference, this map was formerly enclosed in Colonel Stanton's [despatch] number 48, 2 May 1866. However, it seems that this map was actually an enclosure in Stanton's despatch number 10, 31 August 1865; subsequently, this map seems to have been confused with the map that is now item 10 on this roll.
