Egypt. 'Plan de Suez': map, in French, showing the town, the southern terminus of the Suez Canal, the limits of land 'demanded' by the Suez Canal Company, the limits of land conceded by the Egyptian government, and land reserved by the government. Reference note, in English, on land limits, by [Colonel] Edward Stanton. Compass indicator. Signed by the commissioners and by Voisin, Director General of Works. Marked: 'Pièce annexe No.3 au procès verbal [of the Suez Canal Commission]'.
According to the index and cover sheets at the parent reference, this map was formerly enclosed in Colonel Stanton's despatch number 10, 31 August 1865. However, it seems that this map was actually an enclosure (along with the maps that are now items 14-15 and 17 on this roll) in Stanton's [despatch] number 48, 2 May 1866; subsequently, this map seems to have been confused with the map that is now item 16 on this roll.
