Egypt: Suez Canal. Section, in French, of the proposed canal, showing lakes and soil strata. Horizontal scale: 1 inch to about 1.6 miles; vertical scale: 1 inch to about 16 feet. Engraved by Avril Freères, Paris; lithographed by Chézaud and Fosset, [1861]. MS additions, in English, showing a canal for coasting trade, a contractors' canal, and the site of a quarry. Originally enclosed in Mr Colquhoun's [despatch] number 71, 17 July 1861.
