Japan: Osaka. Detailed sketch map, in Japanese, showing streets, named houses, waterways, temples and shrines. Cardinal points. Revised by H Matsuwkawa of Suieido; woodcut by Suekichi. MS additions, coloured, showing an area reserved for the building of foreigners' houses, and an area where foreigners were permitted to rent houses. An English title: 'Native map of Osaka, showing the site of Proposed Foreign Settlement', and a reference table, both in MS, are on a sheet affixed to the face of the map, probably obscuring a Japanese reference table.
