John Clevland. We have not paid the Hawk Sloop, agreeable to the Act of Parliament because her books were received on the 11th and we wrote for the money which has not yet been received. Preference was given to those books in hand for which the money had been received. The Hawke's books will be sent to Portsmouth by Express tomorrow where there is money to pay the Barfleur which can be postponed as the ship is to be paid off.
