Description

John Clevland. Doctor Pringle opines the cause of the sickness which prevails amongst the troops employed this summer is because of the closeness of air on the transports. Have considered Lord Barrington's proposal for ventilators as directed by Dr. Hales, to be fixed on any transports preparing for foreign service. Opine small ventilators would preserve the soldiers' health but because of the quantity of work at Portsmouth to fit out 53 ships, it would take 25 days
