John Clevland. Captain Allen has written about the Saphire which is to be cut down and will then carry 22 12-pounder guns on the lower deck and 10 9-pounder guns on the upper. It is necessary to shift a great part of her upper work which will enable us to add two ports on each side to the lower tier and propose a different disposition of guns as listed. The Adventure, repairing and cutting down at Woolwich, is of the same dimensions and propose she is established with the same number and nature of guns.
