Description

Thomas Corbett. The Captains of the Royal Carolina and Charlotte Yacht has been asked to draw up a list of names and ratings of the men lent to the Colchester to enable her to sail to the Downs and who were on board her when she was lost. Propose to pay a gratuity of two month's pay to compensate them for lost chests and bedding. They should be paid a special daily allowance for the time spent on the Colchester. Ask if the allowance, made as an indulgence to yacht crews is acceptable as it may be claimed by men seconded from other ships.
