Folios 357-358. Letter from Edward Milward, Mayor of Hastings, Sussex, reporting his suspicions, regarding the recent seditious handbills and threatening letters in the Hastings area, about a Mr Leigh. He has been in lodgings for some 3 weeks, corresponds with Lord Stanhope and Mr Perry (in Newgate), draws cheques on Mr Fields of London, reads Paine and Brothers, and sends a great deal of correspondence. Annotated that Leigh is a member of the London Corresponding Society and was distributing the publications of Eaton etc.
