Description

Expresses hope that he will be appointed receiver general for the confiscated estates; states 'I am extremely puzzled - what to make of such Slaves as shall be condemned to transportation - they are fine young people - & would make capital seamen and I have no doubt would behave well as - the worst of them will not get off so easily ... In consideration of their serving without Pay - Govt. should allow £50 or £60 for them - they are worth double the money to their masters - a number extraordinary might be sent in the unhealthy stations - to India ...'
