Description

Extract of a letter from Paris of 28 November 1760: the king of Prussia's campaign must be over; he cannot take Dresden; illness of Marshal Daun; his character; French desire for peace; the policy of holding Göttingen and Cassell is Choiseul's, to use them as bargaining counters; weakness of the French court. He predicts de Broglie's recall. Unpopularity of Soubise. ff. 221-224
