Description

States that the hopes that the 'insurrection' would be short lived made him cheerfully undertake the execution of the government, but after nine months without end to 'public distresses, or bringing to the Colony any person to relieve [me] from [my] situation' states that his departure from the island cannot be delayed without ruin to his private interests, due to his health; says he is confident to leave the civil administration in hands of Mr. Mitchell and there is every reason to expect the arrival of some person superior to him in a few weeks.
